Privacy Policy

This version effective October 21, 2026 (first published October 20, 2026)

This policy explains what Roulette Trivia (the website at roulettetrivia.com and the game on it) collects, why, who receives it, how long it's kept, and what you can do about it. It's meant to be read, not skimmed past. If anything isn't clear, ask us through the feedback form on the home screen.

The short version
  • No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
  • Your scores, streaks, unlocks and daily results stay in your own browser. They're never sent to us.
  • The only things the game sends us are feedback and question reports you choose to submit. The name field is optional.
  • We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
  • Feedback and question reports are deleted once we've dealt with it, and no later than 24 months after we get it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Not made for kids under 13. The hidden 18+ section is for adults only.

1. Who we are

Roulette Trivia is a free, non-commercial trivia game run by one person in the United States as a personal project ("we", "us", "our"). We decide what information the site collects and why, which makes us the party responsible for it under privacy laws (sometimes called the "controller").

For anything privacy-related, use the feedback form (see section 15).

2. What we collect

Stored only on your device

The game saves these in your browser's local storage so it remembers you next time. They stay on your device and are never sent to us:

There's no player ID, so nothing on your device links you to anything on our side.

Feedback you choose to send

If you use the feedback form, we receive the type of feedback you picked, your star rating, your message, and a name if you choose to type one. Along with it, our host Netlify records the time, your IP address, your browser details (the "user agent") and the page you sent it from. Please don't put personal details in your message unless you want us to reply to you.

Collected automatically when your browser loads the site

Like every website, the companies that deliver Roulette Trivia receive your IP address, basic browser and device details, the page or file requested, and the site that sent you there. Your IP address can show your approximate location, usually your city or region. Netlify keeps request logs that we can view in our dashboard. We look at them only to keep the site running and secure, for example to spot and block automated attacks, never to identify players.

The game's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads (see section 4).

What we don't collect

We don't collect your email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, payment details, or anything from other websites you visit. We don't use analytics tools, advertising companies, fingerprinting, session recording, or tracking pixels.

3. How we use it

We use this information only to:

We don't build advertising profiles, we don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we don't sell information to train AI models. If we ever want to use information for a purpose that isn't on this list, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

4. Who receives it

We don't sell your personal information or share it with anyone for advertising. These service providers handle it for us:

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it receives
Netlify, Inc. (USA)Hosts and delivers the website, stores feedback and question reports, and filters spam out of them.IP address, browser details, the pages requested, the site that sent you, and feedback or reports you submit with their IP address and browser details. See Netlify's privacy policy.
Google LLC (USA)Supplies the game's fonts through Google Fonts.IP address and browser details when your browser downloads the fonts. See Google's privacy policy.
GitHub, Inc. (USA)Stores the site's code, which Netlify publishes from.Nothing about players. Listed so the picture is complete.
Anthropic, PBC (USA)We use its AI assistant, Claude, to help us read and sort feedback and question reports. The feedback text, rating, optional name and report details we give it to review. Not your IP address.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it (for example a valid court order), to protect people's safety or our legal rights, or as part of transferring Roulette Trivia to someone else. If the site is transferred, the new owner has to follow this policy for the information it receives, or get your consent before using it in a materially different way.

5. Sharing your score

The Share and "Share my score" buttons create a short message with your score and a link to the site. It goes to your phone's share menu or your clipboard, and you decide where to send it. The game doesn't send it to us. Once you send it, it's out of our hands, and that app's privacy rules apply.

6. Cookies and device storage

Roulette Trivia doesn't set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage only for the items in section 2, which the game needs to remember your progress. Netlify may use short-lived technical measures to protect the site from attacks.

To remove the game's data from your device, clear this site's data in your browser settings. That resets your scores, streak and unlocks. It doesn't touch feedback you've already sent (see section 8 for that).

7. How long we keep it

InformationHow long
Data on your deviceUntil you clear this site's data in your browser.
Feedback submissions and question reportsUntil we've dealt with them, and no later than 24 months after we receive them. Sooner if you ask.
Netlify's request logsSet by Netlify for running and securing its service. We see them only for a short window in our dashboard.
Google Fonts requestsSet by Google under its own policy.
Records of privacy requests24 months, to show we handled them.

8. Your choices and rights

Your choices

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes, we'll offer an opt-out first. We'll never treat you differently, or give you a worse game, for using your rights.

How to make a request

  1. Open the feedback form on the home screen and choose "Something's broken".
  2. Start your message with "Privacy request" and say what you'd like us to do.
  3. Tell us enough to find your submission, such as roughly when you sent it and what it said. Because we don't have accounts, that's the only way we can match feedback to you.
  4. If you want a reply, include a way to reach you. We'll use it only to answer your request.

Timing: we'll respond within 30 days. If a request is complicated, we may take up to 45 more days, and we'll tell you why. Requests are free.

Appeals: if we decline a request, we'll explain why. You can appeal by sending another request starting with "Appeal", and we'll give you a decision within 45 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to your state attorney general, or to the data protection authority where you live (see section 10).

9. US state notices

These notices are for residents of California and of other states with privacy laws. The rights in section 8 are open to everyone, whether or not your state's law requires them.

Categories of information (past 12 months)

CategoryWhat it isSold or shared?
IdentifiersIP address (received by our service providers); a name, if you type one into the feedback formNo
Internet or network activityBrowser details, pages requested and the site that sent you, in Netlify's logsNo
GeolocationApproximate location that can be inferred from an IP address. Never precise location. No
Other information you choose to giveYour feedback message, rating and feedback type; question reports and their detailsNo
Sensitive personal informationNoneNo

We get this information from you and your browser. The purposes are in section 3, the recipients in section 4, and how long we keep it in section 7. We have not sold or shared personal information, as California law defines those words. We don't sell or share personal information of anyone under 16, or anyone we know is under 18. Roulette Trivia isn't a data broker.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We don't track you across other websites, and we don't sell or share personal information, so signals like Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track have nothing to switch off here today. If we ever start an activity these signals apply to, we'll treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out for that browser.

California "Shine the Light"

We don't disclose personal information to others for their own direct marketing.

10. Europe, UK and Switzerland

If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, data protection law (the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the Swiss FADP) gives you the rights in section 8, plus these details.

Why we're allowed to use your information

When we rely on legitimate interests, you can object, and we'll stop unless we have compelling grounds or need the data for a legal claim.

Complaints

You can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In Switzerland, it's the FDPIC. We'd appreciate the chance to fix things first, so please tell us through the feedback form.

Representative

We haven't appointed a representative in the EU or UK. You can always contact us directly (see section 15).

11. International transfers

We're in the United States, and so are our service providers. If you play from anywhere else, your information goes to the US and possibly other countries where those providers run their systems, which may not have the same data protection laws as yours. Where your law requires it, these transfers rely on the safeguards in the providers' own terms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or a provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.

12. Children, teens and the 18+ section

Roulette Trivia is a general-audience game for players 13 and older. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you're under 13, please don't send feedback.

If you're a parent or guardian and think your child under 13 sent us feedback, tell us through the feedback form with roughly when it was sent and what it said, and we'll delete it. If we learn some other way that we've collected information from a child under 13, we'll delete it.

The game has a hidden section with crude adult humor that is only for people 18 and older. It opens only after a player has aced every other section and confirmed they're 18 or older. That confirmation is saved only on the player's device.

13. Security

The site loads only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and uses security settings that stop it from running code from other websites or being shown inside other sites. There's no database of players to break into. Feedback and question reports are stored in our Netlify account, and our accounts are protected. No system is perfectly secure, though. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

14. Changes, including ads

Roulette Trivia has no ads today. When we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. For a big change, like adding ads, accounts or analytics, we'll also show a notice in the game before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it. We won't use information we've already collected in a materially different way without your consent.

We review this policy at least once a year.

15. Contact

Roulette Trivia doesn't have an email address. To reach us about anything privacy-related, use the feedback form on the home screen, choose "Something's broken", and start your message with "Privacy request". We usually reply within a few days when you've included a way to reach you.
